Pedagogy is the art and practice of teaching.

It is the theory and practical application of teaching, including the psychology of learning and also expertise in the learning of particular subjects. It involves curriculum, theories of assessment, theories of child (and adult) development, ethics, and a personal philosophy of education.

Sometimes, pedagogy is used to refer to the teaching of children only, and the terms andragogy and heutagogy are used to refer to the teaching of adults.

Pedagogue used to be a synonym for teacher but is now often used as an insult.

How to write learning outcomes for a constructively aligned course
In a constructively aligned course, the unit learning outcomes are aligned not only with the assessments, learning activities and content of the unit, but also with the course of study learning outcomes, graduate outcomes and any legislation and regulator's requirements. A good learning outcome is at the right knowledge level and measurable, clearly describing the necessary evidence that a student has achieved the outcome.

Pedagogical approach
A pedagogical approach is a set of pedagogical choices designed to enable a group of students to achieve the best learning outcomes.
Learning outcome
A learning outcome is a statement of what a student should know and be able to do after they have completed a course or unit of study. It describes the content, and the level of skills and understanding required.
Taxonomy of learning outcomes
A taxonomy of learning outcomes is a group of learning outcomes categorised according to the domain of learning and organised according to the depth and type of learning.
Competency-based learning
In competency-based learning, students are assessed on whether they have the skills and knowledge to perform tasks to a specified standard. They are not compared to other students or penalised for the rate at which they learned.
Active learning
Active learning is learning where student's brains are actively involved in selecting information to be learned, organising it and connecting it to existing learning to build new knowledge. Passively listening or copying notes is not active learning, and nor is rote learning.
