Plagiarism is cheating. If you copy someone else’s work or ideas and pretend it is yours, you are plagiarising. It is dishonest. This form of cheating doesn’t just break school or university rules, it can break copyright law.
Copying your own work and pretending it is new can also be plagiarism. This is called self-plagiarism.
